While North American customers usually read a lot about #Xiaomi phones in their news feeds, there’s never any word about a local release. However, U.S. Mobile, an American carrier is looking to change that by offering three Xiaomi smartphones to the customers in the U.S.
Granted these devices are not the latest and greatest that Xiaomi has to offer, it goes without saying that this is a step in the right direction. As of now, customers can purchase the Xiaomi Mi 4 ($220), the Mi 3 ($135) and the Redmi 2 ($119) from the carrier. As there are no compatible 4G radios on board, none of these handsets will support the LTE networks in the U.S.
But in order to make this an attractive offering, U.S. Mobile is offering 500MB of data, 500 texts and 500 voice minutes at just $24 per month. In addition to the aforementioned trio of Xiaomi phones, the company is also introducing the Meizu M2 Note handset in the country with a price tag of just $129.
