Note 4 Not Attaching Picture To Text Message
Problem: When I try to send a text message with a picture, after selecting the picture it sends automatically. If I want to write a message I would have to send a separate text. I want to write a text message along with the picture before sending it, but it doesn’t give me the option. I use to have the option to write a text along with the picture before sending but after updating to this version it doesn’t allow me to do so anymore. Any help on how I can fix this will help. Thank you!
Related Problem: when I try to attach picture to text message it sends it without attaching it to the texted I was typing. also if I am in gallery looking at photo and I tap to share when I click message it now asks me to “select contact to share” with 2 options existing or new. Once I pic or assign contact it sends picture without allowing me type message
Related Problem: I use to be able to attach multiple pics on one tex from the message screen. Or, I could go to gallery & select multiple, then I could select text & the message would appear & I could create a new message. Now, when I can still select multiple pics, but they send individually, not attached to my message. So, I have to send the pics & then the message. Or vice versa. Also, when I select a pic from the gallery it now asks if I wasn’t too send to existing contract or new, then make me go to contacts, select from there then sends the pics, still individually. I may have had a recent update. Either way, I don’t recall changing anything myself. I just noticed this just started happening. Thank you for your help
Solution: This is an issue that usually happens to T-Mobile subscribers. It appears to be caused by a bug in an update that the carrier has pushed to the device. The first thing that needs to be done in this case is to check if there are any new updates available for your phone. If there are then I suggest you apply them.
If no new updates are available then one way to deal with this issue is to turn off the voLTE service on your device. To do this open the phone app then go to the keypad tab. Tap on more options then settings. From here tap on call then go to Voice over LTE settings. Set it to Do not use VoLTE.
If the issue still occurs then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Only Part Of Text Message Arrives
Problem: I didn’t fill in the recent apps, as it’s been an issue for some time. Occasionally when I receive a text, only part of it will come through and some of it will be in what appears to be Vietnamese, with accents or symbols over the letters and the letters are not like what the sender sent. Not sure if this makes sense, I can send a screenshot to show you. This is on the standard message app provided, not a 3rd party app.
Solution: Try checking if this issue is caused by a third party app by starting your phone in Safe mode first. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. I it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
There’s also a possibility that a corrupt temporary data is causing this issue. If this is the case then you need to clear the cache and data of the messaging app. You should also start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
If the problem still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Not Able To Send Pictures In Text Message
Problem: I purchased this sprint phone, but am on the Tmobile network. I’m not able to send pictures in text messages. I spoke to Tmobile help who reset the network to theirs, but still no luck. When I spoke to Samsung, they indicated that it might be Sprint’s formatting of the data that’s not compatible with the tmobile network. Is that true? thanks
Solution: Since the APN settings of your phone have been set already the issue could be caused by a problem with the phone software. Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once this is done check if your phone is using the T-Mobile APN settings. Make sure to turn on your mobile data switch. It is best if your phone is getting an LTE signal. Try to send a picture message and check if it works.
Note 4 Text Message Takes Too Long To Send
Problem: During texting, after I finish typing it takes for ever for the text to go through after pressing send. And while the phone is thinking about sending the message the app is locked so I cannot go to another start another text or select another contact to text until the original text actually goes through which could take up to 10-15 seconds. I have cleared cache on the messaging app and on the Samsung keyboard but that does not help
Solution: Before doing any troubleshooting make sure that your phone has a good network signal. If the signal is good then there is a possibility that the problem is caused by some form of corrupt data. Start your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your phone. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Text Message Sent Is Split
Problem: when I send a long text message it is split on the receiver’s end, but not on mine. I want them to get it all in one box. Do I change some setting on my phone, or does he change a setting on his?
Solution: This issue concerns the recipient and not your device. It’s either a limitation in the recipient’s network that prevents long messages to be received as a single text or it could be a setting in the recipient’s phone that is splitting the text message.
Note 4 Sending Weird Characters In Text Message
Problem: I am getting weird sms messages sent from my phone. It only happens to one person that I text. Not sure how long it’s been going on but at first it wasn’t very often, now it seems to happen with maybe 2 out of every 6 msgs. So when I send a msg on her end she receives usually “dA” then the last 5 characters of the text. If I screenshot the msg and send it back to her it’s fine. It seems to be random when she gets that, because I could send a 3 word text or a long text and she will get the “dA” sometimes. She receives the error but I have never got that from her. I have Verizon and she has t-mobile. We have both tried restarting our phones, clearing cache, and even doing factory resets. The issue is still occurring. 🙁 I’m not sure if that’s enough to help me out but I appreciate you trying to help out! Thanks!
Solution: The problem appears to be on the other end since it does not appear on your device. Since it only happens to a single person then it could be an issue with that person’s phone. Have that person place the SIM in a different phone then check if the issue still occurs on this other phone. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by the phone the recipient is using right now.
