NVIDIA resumes update for Shield Tablet and Tablet K1 after patching WiFi bug

NVIDIA Shield Tablet

#NVIDIA started sending out a software update for its #ShieldTablet and Tablet K1 devices, only to realize that the update bricked WiFi functionality on devices. After getting innumerable complaints from users and halting the update, NVIDIA has now successfully patched this particular bug and mentioned that the software update will commence for the two tablets as originally planned. Customers can be assured that the WiFi bug will no longer be present once the update is rolled out.

The Shield Tablet and the Tablet K1 have already received Android 6.0 Marshmallow, thanks to NVIDIA’s relatively snappy update rollout process. However, a bug like this left the users high and dry as not having WiFi on a WiFi only device renders it useless. But that’s old news now as NVIDIA has acted accordingly and fixed the bug.

Do you own the NVIDIA Shield Tablet or the Tablet K1? And have you received an update yet? Let us know in the comments section below.
