The #LGG5 smartphone went official a couple of days ago at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona. However, the company didn’t share availability related details for the smartphone, leaving fans pretty much in the dark about its arrival. Well, American customers now have a date to circle on their calendars as the company has officially announced pre-orders of the device via Best Buy starting March 18.
This is frankly a little disappointing as Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge will be in customers’ hands by then, with the handset going up on pre-order today via all four major carriers of the U.S. So the additional time that LG is taking might really hurt the company’s chances in the American market. On the other hand, waiting a couple of weeks more might give LG enough time to bring the accessories or “Friends” that it showed off at the event on Sunday along with the G5.
As it stands, Best Buy is the only place you will be able to pre-order the smartphone. But considering the fact that this is a flagship product, we expect carriers to join in on the action subsequently.
