LG G4 now getting the Android 6.0 OTA update

LG G4The #LGG4 on T-Mobile recently received the #Android 6.0 #Marshmallow update through the LG Bridge software for desktops. The smartphone is now seemingly getting the update over the air (OTA) as well, suggesting that the widespread rollout has officially commenced.

The Marshmallow update has already seeded to devices like the LG V10 as well as the LG G3 in other markets, so it was only a matter of time before the mid-2015 flagship got similar treatment. It’s important to note that the global variants of the LG G4 have already received Marshmallow and only the carrier variants have taken this long to issue the update.

The Android 6.0 update for the LG G4 is said to be 963.7MB in size, so it is recommended that users remain on an unlimited WiFi connection before going ahead with the download and install. If you’re not seeing the update yet, it might help to try out the LG Bridge software, which is what originally did the trick for a handful of users initially. You can alternatively hit Settings – About Phone – Update Center – System Updates and tap Check for Update on your G4.
