The #HuaweiGX8 smartphone has just been released in the U.S. officially carrying a price tag of $349.99. The smartphone was announced to be released in the U.S. in February and the company has brought it to the region right on cue. If you’re wondering, the smartphone comes with all the bells and whistles to justify the $350 price tag and even tops some of the similarly priced handsets in the market. The competition includes the HTC One A9, the LG Nexus 5X, the 2014 Moto X and the OnePlus 2.
The GX8 comes with a 5.5 inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable), the octa core Snapdragon 615 SoC, Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 3,000 mAh battery. The device is also packing a fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device without a passcode. It’s not known if the fingerprints can be used to authenticate payments via Android Pay, but we expect support to arrive at a future date.
