Huawei, Vivo and Xiaomi to utilize Samsung’s curved edge displays in the future

Galaxy S6 edge

Let’s be frank. Samsung’s curved display handsets like the #GalaxyS6edge, #GalaxyS6edge+ as well as the newly launched #GalaxyS7edge have been a revelation in the mobile industry. No other manufacturer in the industry has been able to replicate Samsung’s innovations in this regard, and there’s a very good reason for that. Well, Samsung is the only company that is currently capable of mass producing these display panels.

So it only behooves other manufacturers to join the curved edge fray soon. It is being said that Chinese manufacturers Xiaomi, Vivo and Huawei will soon contract Samsung to supply these display panels. So future Xiaomi and Huawei handsets could be packing the curved edge display that we love so much. Of course, it could take some time before manufacturers come to an agreement about this, but this seems to be a step in the right direction from Samsung (if the reports are indeed true).

Samsung faced some supply related issues last year due to the heavy demand for the Galaxy S6 edge. But if the company has decided to sell the display panels to third party manufacturers, we’re guessing they have streamlined the manufacturing process to a great extent.

Do you welcome this move from Samsung?
