While the likes of #Samsung and #LG are releasing their flagship handsets by February 21, Taiwanese manufacturer #HTC is said to be exempt from the list. While the reasoning for this is not known at this point, we can only speculate that HTC wants to stand out from the competition and have a separate event after the MWC is concluded.
A new rumor emerging out of reliable sources is indicating that the HTC One M10, also known as the Perfume will be released by the company on the 11th of April at a dedicated event in London. This goes well with the originally rumored end of Q1 or Q2 release date for the smartphone. It seems like HTC wants to avoid a repeat of last year when it was the first to the flagship party with the One M9, but had to bear the brunt of the Snapdragon 810 overheating issues. So this appears to be a cautionary step from the manufacturer.
In any case, we should have the company’s flagship launching in the markets by mid-2016 at the latest, which is slightly longer than usual. But if the extra time helps the company release a decent flagship, we’re not going to complain.
