3G version of the Samsung Gear S2 Classic will reach the U.S. on March 11

Samsung Gear S2 Classic

The #Samsung #GearS2Classic with cellular connectivity (3G) will be available soon as the company mentioned earlier today. It has now been announced that this particular wearable will hit the American shelves on the 11th of March, which also happens to be the rumored arrival date of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge in the U.S.

This wearable will be the world’s first smartwatch to utilize eSIM, which is a technology that allows devices to operate without a physical SIM card, running the device on a virtual SIM card over-the-air. This technology was shown off at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last year, so it’s fitting that Samsung will have a device powering the technology a year later at the same event.

As for availability in the U.S., we can expect all top carriers in the region to offer details on pricing as we inch closer to March 11. My guess is that the carriers will provide information on the wearable right after the Galaxy S7 announcement on Sunday, so we probably don’t have long to wait in order to learn more about the American arrival of the Gear S2 Classic with 3G.
