The #Samsung #GalaxyJ3 smartphone has just been announced by Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile respectively, carrying an attractive price tag. Both carriers are charging $180 for the smartphone, which is slightly expensive given what this Samsung midranger brings to the table.
For the price mentioned above, you’re getting a 5-inch 720p AMOLED display, a 1.2 GHz quad core processor (make unknown), a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable), a 2,600 mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Virgin Mobile is making the smartphone available right away, while Boost Mobile will have it in stores on Jan 18, with online availability commencing the next day on Jan 19.
The smartphone will sit in nicely with the two carriers’ catalog of budget and midrange Android smartphones. It will be interesting to see if any of the bigger carriers will pick the smartphone up, although it’s pretty likely that the Galaxy J3 will remain limited to the prepaid carriers of the U.S.
