Prototype of the LG G5 leaked out in a series of images

LG G5 back

The #LGG5 smartphone has been scheduled for a February 21 release. A new leak has now revealed the device in flesh, while we were previously treated to just renders of the smartphone.

This new wave of leaks show the device enclosed in a thick protective covering, so as to not reveal its true identity. But fortunately for us, there is enough evidence here to suggest that this is in fact the LG flagship we’ve all been waiting for.

LG G5 front

Detailed images of the bottom portion reveal a USB Type-C port as well as a speaker grill right next to it. The speaker grill appears to be smaller than usual, which shouldn’t be cause for concern as LG’s speakers have historically been pretty decent.

The left side of the handset houses the volume rocker while the right has the SIM card tray. The camera arrangement on the back is particularly interesting and it seems like the company will use a Duo Camera module (à la the HTC One M8). There’s a massive slot for the fingerprint scanner on the back right below the camera sensors. The front portion doesn’t reveal much and the bottom bezel is covered entirely, which should be a barren area anyway.
