OnePlus X getting the Oxygen OS 2.2.0 update now

OnePlus X

#OnePlusX owners should soon start seeing notifications for the Oxygen OS 2.2.0 update. This is a staged rollout, so only users in some regions might see it right away. For those unaware, the OnePlus X is the company’s newest and smallest flagship which comes with an impressive specs sheet for a price tag of just $249.

Here are the changes listed by the company for Oxygen OS 2.2.0 running OnePlus X:

  • Manual mode for Camera App
  • Save to SD card option in Camera App
  • USSD bug fix for India
  • Added dual SIM preferences back in system settings
  • OTA App upgrade
  • Security patches
  • General bug fixes and optimizations

Camera buffs will be excited with the addition of manual mode, while there are some much needed region specific updates/patches as well. If you’re still wondering, well, this doesn’t bring Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the handset. The company is expected to rollout the update to the OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X over the coming weeks, although we don’t have a precise timeline at this point.
