Earlier today, we heard that #Lenovo will be axing the #MotoE and #MotoG lineup this year. However, a new statement from #Motorola has shed some light on the matter and we’re happy to report that it’s all good news.
In a statement to The Verge, Motorola said – “Although we are simplifying the combined Motorola and [Lenovo] portfolio, we have no plans to retire Moto G, our most successful smartphone, or Moto E.” Thus, both series should still be around, at least for the foreseeable future.”
This puts things in a better light and it seems like the report earlier was taken out of context as most of it was translated from Chinese. So there you have it folks, the Moto E and the Moto G are here to stay, even though the company hasn’t promised a long term future at this point. It would be illogical of Lenovo to ditch one of Motorola’s most successful smartphones, so this clarification brings a sigh of relief to Motorola fans across the world.
