LG schedules flagship launch event for Feb 21; LG G5 on the cards

LG G5 - Play Begins

#LG has already confirmed that it will be releasing a flagship device at the MWC next month and now we have a date to circle on our calendars. The company has started sending out event invites for a February 21 event in Barcelona, with the LG G5 almost certainly expected to be on the agenda.

“Play Begins” as the company mentions in its invitation, suggesting that there could be some fun stuff on the agenda. The invite also has a jack-in-a-box displayed, which is highly suggestive of the fact that the company might be taking the “play” aspect very seriously here.

The LG G5 (or whatever LG decides to call it) will be rivaling Samsung’s Galaxy S7 smartphone which is scheduled to be announced before LG’s event. Hardware details are naturally very scarce right now, but we should expect more details to follow in the days to come.

The event will take place at 2PM local time (8AM Eastern Time, 5AM Pacific Time) on the 21st of February, so American customers will have to be up early to catch the new release.
