Verizon sending out WiFi Calling update to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge

Galaxy S6

The #Verizon branded #Samsung #GalaxyS6 as well as the #GalaxyS6edge are now getting an update carrying the WiFi Calling feature. The update has been long overdue, but given the nature of Verizon’s update rollouts, this is barely a surprise to us at this point.

The update also introduces live video broadcasting in accordance with YouTube. Using this nifty feature, customers can start shooting videos and broadcast it on YouTube in real time. The update change log also makes a mention of UHQA or Ultra High Quality Audio which will supposedly improve the performance of the speakers and the music listening experience on the whole.

The update will also include the new Samsung Messages app, which will let you preview messages from the lock screen as well as the status bar instead of opening the app to view them. Of course, this is not mandatory for the users and can be disabled from the Settings easily.

As for WiFi calling, customers will have to head over to Settings > Advanced Calling > Activate Advanced Calling. After this feature is enabled, they can proceed to turn on HD Voice as well as WiFi calling.
