Verizon Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ getting security patches

Galaxy Note 5

The #Verizon branded #Samsung #GalaxyNote5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ are now receiving an update from the carrier with security enhancements on board. There are no other major features available here, so you won’t see a major UI overhaul or anything of that nature.

For those unaware, Google has promised to issue security updates to Android devices every month ever since the Stagefright bug was discovered on the platform. The update change log for both devices do not have any other major changes on board as it only lists the security update here.

The patch should arrive in the form of an OTA update, although it might take a couple of days to reflect on all devices. If you’re growing impatient, make sure you head over to the Settings and check for an update manually.
