People were initially skeptical about the #BlackBerryPriv, but the device has been quite popular in the markets since it was released. However, the handset is an exclusive via AT&T in the U.S., so the customers don’t have a lot of options to purchase the handset.
But that’s about to change with T-Mobile supposedly setting up a January 26 release date for the BlackBerry flagship. The info was leaked by an internal T-Mobile document, so it’s coming from an official source.
We’ve heard reports of BlackBerry releasing the Priv via other networks before, but this is the first time we’re coming across something conclusive. January 26 is still a month away, so a lot could change by then. Keeping this in mind, we suggest you don’t get your hopes up, especially if you’re a T-Mobile customer.
However, releasing it via other carriers makes complete sense for BlackBerry and quite frankly we’re a little surprised that the company didn’t commit to this much earlier. Considering the kind of hardware it possesses, the BlackBerry Priv has the potential to appeal to a wide range of customers.
Would you be excited for the launch of the BlackBerry Priv on T-Mobile?
