Some YouTube app users seeing buffer progress indicator when videos are paused

YouTube Buffering

#YouTube videos are a breeze to watch on mobile thanks to dedicated apps. Some users are now reporting the addition of a cool new feature on the Android version of the app where pausing an existing video would show the buffering progress in this format – “Buffering 15/28MB“.

What’s more is that switching to another app would pop up a heads up notification telling you how much the video has buffered. And when it’s completely buffered, it tells you that the video is ready to watch. These are pretty neat additions to the YouTube app. However, it seems to be limited to Android at the moment, although we wouldn’t put it past Google to send out an update to the iOS version of YouTube as well.

Don’t lose patience if you’re not seeing the update on your smartphone yet as it could be rolling out in stages. But if you’re already seeing this fancy new feature on your device, make sure you let us know by dropping a comment below.
