Samsung Galaxy S6 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow spotted on a benchmark listing

Galaxy S6

The #Samsung #GalaxyS6 (SM-G920F) has just been spotted online on a benchmark database featuring Android 6.0.1 #Marshmallow, which is the latest build of Android.

This is not exactly a surprise given that Samsung was always going to update the device to the latest version of Android. But since this model has already been spotted on a benchmark listing, it seems like the handset will receive the update sooner than the scheduled January 2016 timeframe.

It must be noted that this is the global unlocked model and not a carrier variant, so American customers have no reason to be excited just yet.

Android 6.0 is already seeding to the Galaxy Note 5 phablet, with the Galaxy S6 edge+ slated to get it sometime in December. A report recently surprised us all when it was revealed that the Galaxy Note 4 could be getting the Marshmallow update soon. So the company might be expediting the rollout of the update for all its devices.
