Just trying to decide whether to keep it or go back to iPhone. Non techy user. Sent videos all the time on iPhone, can’t send a 3-second one on Galaxy.
I have read about using software to somehow send one but sounds complicated and time consuming. Also unhappy that videos received on my phone from iPhones are so tiny and hard to view.
Also was told my videos, pictures, and contacts from iPhone would go across to the Galaxy. I got about 2/3’s of my contacts and pictures and zero videos.
Afraid Sprint will charge a lot to go back to iPhone, but since my main usage is sending and receiving pictures and videos in messages, I appear to have made a big mistake going to Galaxy.
Rest of my family has iPhones. Are there easy answers to my issues with the Galaxy or am I out of luck? Thanks. — Jan
Solution: Hi Jan. Just like T-Mobile, Sprint’s file size limit for their MMS or video message is 1MB. If you are trying to send or receive MMS or video message larger than 1MB, Sprint will automatically recode the message to compress it so it can be transmitted in their network.
If you used to send video messages and MMS on your iPhone before without this limitation, that’s because you were using Apple’s proprietary iMessage system. If you are familiar with other messaging platform like Facebook’s Messenger, Apple’s iMessage works similarly. Basically, your messages are transmitted and stored in Apple’s iMessage system instead of using your wireless carrier’s bandwidth so you did not experience the 1MB restriction.
Android phones depend on their carrier’s SMS and MMS system to transmit MMS or video messages so the restriction applies. If you want to circumvent, try using other messaging app like Facebook’s Messenger to send and receive videos.
For your other concern regarding contacts not being moved completely to the Galaxy S6, the solution depends on what method you used to move the said contacts. The easiest way we can recommend, assuming that you still have your iPhone with you, is through the use of an iOS app called My Contacts Backup. This app will collect all your iPhone contacts into one file (.vcf format), which you can then email to your Google account on your Galaxy S6. In fact there are other methods out there that you can use to do this task. Try to use Google to look for other ways to move your contacts to your new Galaxy S6.

I’m having a problem with Chrome mimicking my device. It often happens in my texting screen or when I am receiving a call while my phone is locked. When I am texting, it will appear that my phone has locked up. The screen is open with the texts to the person that I had recently accessed, but the screen is unresponsive. Nothing works. The only thing that works is the recent tabs button to the left of my home button. Once I click this, I see that I was actually in a CHROME browser, and my texts were on another page entirely. Somehow chrome opened a page to mimic my texts seamlessly. This also happens when I receive calls. The phone lights up displaying the name of the person calling me, but the screen itself is unresponsive and the call can’t be answered.
The way I’ve dealt with this is by clicking the back button to close out Chrome (which you can’t see when the phone is locked and receiving a call, but I’ve learned that it’s Chrome and needs to be closed) and then answering the phone. Why is Chrome mimicking my phone? Could it be adware? Because I also have pop ups to the Google Play Store very often. Thank you. — Melissa
Solution: Hi Melissa. We are yet to hear of a malware causing the situation you describe here but it’s possible that the Chrome app itself is to blame. Have you tried uninstalling it to see the difference?
If you suspect that adware or malware has penetrated your phone’s defenses, consider doing a factory reset. For your convenience, we’ll post the exact steps here on how it’s done:
- Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
- Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
- When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
- Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
- Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
- Press the Vol Down button again until the option ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
- After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.
Keep in mind that malware only gains entry to your Android device via the apps you install. We cannot overstate it enough that you must be wary of installing untrusted or unknown games and games. Doing a factory reset will be a wasted effort if you will re-install the same set of apps afterwards. Try to prune the set of apps you have and stick of official or mainstream ones.
My Galaxy S6 was initially very snappy and responsive, but as time went by it started to lag. If I try to open a link from YouTube for instance, it normally takes 15 seconds just to load the page. Another example is when I load up a social media app such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, it freezes for about 5 seconds then opens up the app. This problem has gotten worse as time has passed.
I have currently used about 20GB worth of storage. I have the 32GB . I also bought a 32GB SD card and I have used 10GB of that. I see videos of the Galaxy S6 as a very fast and quick phone but mine just hasn’t been living up to my expectations.
I usually have no problems with any apps crashing but it is very slow and lagging. Any information that you can give me would be helpful. By the way, my carrier is T-Mobile. You guys have helped me a lot before and I hope you can do the same now.

Solution: Hi Spencer. There can be a number of reasons why an Android phone lags but one of the common causes can be a corrupted cache. Try to wipe your phone’s cache partition first, then the cache and data of the apps involved so you will see any difference. To wipe the system cache, just follow these steps:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key.
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
- Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
- Press the Power key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
You can also delete the individual cache and data of the problem apps by doing the following:
- Go to Settings.
- Proceed to Applications.
- Select Manage Applications.
- Tap the All tab.
- Choose the name of the app that has the problem and tap it.
- From there, you will see the Clear Cache and Clear Data buttons.
Tapping on Clear Data button is the virtual equivalent of removing and re-installing it. This means that any settings, customizations, accounts, etc associated with the account may be removed from your phone. Make sure you know your credentials for your accounts before doing this step to avoid losing personal data and control of said accounts.
Sometimes, doing a factory reset can also be an effective solution especially if the root of the problem is firmware-related. Don’t forget to do it if wiping the cache won’t fix anything.
In some rare cases, a bad sector on a microSD card can also lead to reading and writing process, thus resulting to perceived lag when opening apps based on that memory unit. Make sure to reformat your SD card if wiping the cache and factory reset won’t work.
If none of these procedures won’t work though, consider having the phone checked by professionals for a possible hardware issue. If still under warranty, requesting for a replacement should be the best choice.
Hi. I was hoping you could help me. I’m having trouble moving pictures from my device to the SD card. Every time I try and move some pictures, it says ‘unable to move, file already exist’.
I have checked, and the file(s) don’t exist. I have now tried everything and am desperate!
I’ve also changed my camera storage settings to SD card, but whenever I take a picture, this message saying “cannot write file on SD card. Default storage is changed to phone memory” is displayed. Other than that, whenever I try to move a picture in the gallery, “unable to move. File already exists.” I also cannot delete any images !
I have Factory Reseted and Cache partition my phone.. but the problem is still there. PLEASE HELP ME ! Is there any Other way?

Solution: Hi Mira. The reason for your problem may be anything at this point and includes the possibility of an SD card bug. Try to reformat the SD card using a computer and insert it again on your phone. If that won’t work, try using another card to see the difference.
Hi there. I have a problem with my phone. I can make calls and send texts, but I cannot receive calls. When my phone number is dialed (I’ve tried calling from 3 different phones) the line just keeps ringing, but my phone does not ring nor does it register a missed call.
The S6 phone I am using was originally purchased through Sprint in the States. I have since moved to Canada and unlocked my S6. I was using my phone with a Koodo Mobile SIM for several months with no issues. Then after a recent trip back to the States, I used the phone on Sprint’s network and after I returned to Canada I was no longer able to receive calls. I just switched networks from Koodo Mobile to Fido Mobile. Both when using Fido and Koodo my phone is/was unable to receive calls.
I am still able to text. receive texts, make calls and access data, but for some reason I cannot receive calls. I have also checked call barring and call forwarding settings to make sure everything is disabled. I have no idea what is going on with my phone.

Solution: Hi Ren. We recommend that you do a factory reset (steps provided above) first to check if there’s an operating system bug causing the trouble. If the problem remains after a factory wipe, make sure that call divert on your SIM card is not enabled. Call your wireless carrier if you need assistance in checking this. If you don’t have any call divert option enabled on your number, try to ask direct assistance from your carrier as there might be some call routing issues on your account that you are not aware of.
