According to a new report from earlier in the day, the #LGG3 smartphone was supposedly getting the Android 6.0 update starting today. The report quoted a tweet from an LG executive suggesting that this was in fact the real deal. And now, the same executive has refuted the news altogether and clarified on Twitter as to what he actually meant. The person in question here is Jaroslaw Bukowski, who belongs to LG’s Poland wing.
His new tweet mentions that while the LG G3 will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there’s no fixed timeline at this point. So what are we to make of this? Well, the company still doesn’t have a proper date to give out for the update rollout, which means the earlier revelation was probably taken out of context or was simply an error on Mr. Bukowkski’s part.
Here’s what his new tweet says – “Yes, LG G3 will be updated to Marshmallow soon, in Poland. No, I don’t know the date. No, I don’t know when it’s coming to other countries.”
Whatever the case, owners of the LG G3 will be pleased to know that an update to Marshmallow is in fact on the horizon. Do you own an LG G3? What do you make of this news?
