AT&T branded HTC One A9 getting the December security update

HTC One A9

The #HTC #OneA9 on AT&T is now receiving the monthly security update from December, as promised by HTC when the handset was initially revealed. This shows the company’s commitment to keep its handsets updated with the latest firmware and get rid of any security bugs that might have popped up over a one month period.

HTC has promised to send out security updates as well as full blown Android updates to devices almost immediately after Nexus devices get them, so the fact that the company has sent out the update already is not a surprise.

Google has started sending out the Android 6.0.1 update to the Nexus devices already, so we can expect to find this update on the One A9 subsequently. If you own an AT&T branded One A9, make sure you’re on the lookout for the update. Bear in mind that not all users will see the update right away, so remain patient if it hasn’t popped up on your handset yet.
