#Android 6.0 #Marshmallow has been available for over 2 months now with devices like the #Nexus5X and the #Nexus6P launching with the said OS by default. And two months have gone by, but adoption is still seen to be in its infancy. The Android distribution figures from December have shown that Android 6.0 is currently running on just 0.5% of all Android devices out there.
As is the case with these charts every month, some relatively older Android versions have seen a drop in marketshare, which is good news for Google. However, some devices still continue to run on Android 4.4 KitKat and Android 5.0, 5.1 Lollipop (36.6% and 29.5% respectively). Interestingly, Android Lollipop has seen an increase of 3.9% compared to last month, so it seems like Google has to deal with more fragmentation in the months to come.
Android 4.4 KitKat on the other hand has seen a dip in marketshare, which is relatively good news keeping the current situation in mind. Do you have Marshmallow on your device yet? Let us know in the comments section below.
