You can now try out Firefox OS on your Android phone using an APK file

Mozilla Firefox OS

Mozilla’s #FirefoxOS hasn’t exactly risen to prominence since it was announced a couple of years ago, but there are some people out there who see utility in the operating system. However, hardware running the OS is hard to come by at the moment, so fans are rather forced to try out flashing ROMs instead.

To make that process easier, Mozilla has now released a new APK file which comes with Firefox OS 2.5 Developer Preview. Installing this file will give you a proper Firefox OS experience and offer you a better idea of how things work. In theory, the app is just another Android launcher although it has its very own Settings page as well as a web browser to give you an experience similar to Firefox OS.

Naturally, this is a free download from Mozilla so you can simply install the APK from the company’s site and take it for a spin. Bear in mind that you might need to allow installation from third party sources before going ahead with the download. Hit the link below for more details.
