Pepsi P1 smartphone goes official with a 5.5 inch 1080p display and 4G LTE for $109

The #PepsiP1 smartphone has been a constant entrant in the leaks over the past few days and the device has finally gone official now. The handset is a typical midrange offering and is available only in China at the moment.

It features a very attractive price tag of 699 CNY ($109), which will surely make it an attractive proposition for buyers in the region. The FDD-LTE version of the handset will be sold via regional carrier China Unicom and will be known as the P1s.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch 1080p display, a 1.7 GHz octa core MediaTek MT6592 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphone only has Pepsi branding, with the manufacturing duties handled by Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co., Ltd.

The company will sell the device in Gold, Silver and Blue color variants, so there will be plenty of choice for local buyers. Customers can get the handset through a crowdfunding campaign on There’s no word on whether Pepsi will release the device outside China, but we’re not getting our hopes up just yet.
