With the #LG #WatchUrbane2 set to go official on the 13th of November via AT&T and 19th of November from #Verizon, customers can expect to own it before the end of the month.
However, the prices for both variants are quite off as a quick check on their respective websites will tell you. While the AT&T model is priced at $199.99 with a two year contract, the Verizon model has been priced at $449.99 with a two year agreement, which is more than double that of AT&T’s price.
The off contract prices also have similar disparity wherein the AT&T model is going for $299.99 while Verizon is charging for an insane $499.99 for the wearable. Verizon is yet to confirm the reasoning behind this exorbitant price tag, but we’re not sure anything can justify a price tag this high, unless it was done in error.
The Watch Urbane 2 comes with the ability to make phone calls independently, thanks to the systemwide support enabled by Google earlier today. So while the new LG wearable is not a conventional $200 smartwatch, it certainly doesn’t warrant a price tag of $499.99. But then again, the Apple Watch retails for around the same price, so one could make that argument as well.
