The #Xiaomi #MiPad2 tablet has already been certified by the Chinese authorities a couple of months ago. The device has now made its way to GeekBench, suggesting that a launch is imminent.
The tablet is shown to be packing a 2.24 GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 chipset, which is new for a Xiaomi device. But from what we know about the Chinese OEM, it’s never been one to shy away from experimenting or embracing new hardware.
The tablet is also shown to be packing 2GB of RAM underneath and Android 5.1 Lollipop, which could change in time for the launch. The first gen Mi Pad was known for its striking similarity with the Apple iPad Mini right from the display size to the resolution, so the same can be expected from the new model.
Xiaomi is also expected to launch the Mi 5 smartphone sometime soon, so it is possible that the company will release the two devices together. In any case, it seems like Christmas could come early for Xiaomi fans.
