HTC One A9 security updates will be sent out shortly after Nexus devices get them

HTC One A9 - Official

The #OneA9 is one of the first non-Nexus devices to run #Android 6.0 #Marshmallow out of the box. A new report now mentions that HTC plans to update the device with the latest security updates very soon and might not wait too long to send them out to the device. It is believed that HTC will only be behind by about 15 days compared to Nexus smartphones, which is a decent turnaround time for a non-Nexus device.

It must be noted that HTC has already started preparing a new security update for the One A9 smartphone, which should begin seeding to devices starting today. So if you recently got yourself the One A9 handset or are looking to get one, you can be assured of getting frequent security updates from the company.

It is important to remember that HTC can only promise timely security updates for unlocked models of the One A9 and the carrier variants will still have to wait quite a bit in order to get the updates.
