Google engineer tells you which USB Type C cables to buy on Amazon

Nexus USB Type C - Google

With the #LG #Nexus5X and the #Huawei #Nexus6P, #Google introduced its first ever USB Type C smartphones, which wouldn’t work with legacy micro USB cables that were shipped before.

And naturally, owners of the new smartphones would like to buy additional cables in case the one that was supplied is faulty or if they simply want to have another option. The problem in this case is that there are a lot of cables out there selling online but the customers have little to no knowhow on which ones to pick.

A Google engineer called Benson Leung has now taken it upon himself to educate the customers about which cables to get and which ones to strictly avoid. This is strange as the customers usually have to resort to trial and error to figure this out. He praised Belkin and iOrange cables, while criticizing a couple of other brands.

I personally commend this move from the Googler and hope it encourages more companies to follow. You can find the reviews for a variety of USB Type C cables on Amazon right now. Below are the links for a couple of the highly rated cables.
