The #HPTouchPad tablet originally launched with webOS, although the developer community has pretty much converted it into an Android tablet since the days of #Android 2.3 Gingerbread. A developer named Flintman has now successfully managed to port Android 6.0 #Marshmallow onto this four year old tablet and it appears to be running fine for the most part.
The device is running an alpha build of the Evervolv ROM from the developer, so there will be some bugs on board. It is said that features like camera, bluetooth etc are currently non-functional so you can try out this ROM only to satisfy your curiosity. The tablet received an Android 5.1 ROM earlier this year, which is seemingly stable, so you are better off using that if you have this as your daily driver.
HP has obviously given up on the tablet, as was evident months after its release where the device was sold at throwaway prices. But it’s good to see that the developer community has still managed to keep the device alive by issuing new ROMs for the tablet. You can find more details of the ROM from the XDA page below.
