AT&T updating the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active to Android 5.1.1

Galaxy S5 Active

The Galaxy S Active series is exclusive to AT&T as we all know. The carrier has now started rolling out the Android 5.1.1 update to the 2014 model, the #GalaxyS5Active.

This is long overdue considering that Android 5.1 was released sometime earlier this year and most 2014 flagships are waiting for the Android 6.0 update at this point. But given that this is a niche product and keeping AT&T’s history in mind, this isn’t exactly a surprise to us.

The changelog mentions that the update will introduce support for Android for Work as well as a handful of other features on board. The update will naturally bring an all new user interface and some performance enhancements that is found on Android 5.1. Although the carrier has already begun the update rollout, AT&T should take its time to send out the update.

Make sure you let us know in the comments section below if you’ve already seen the update. But if you haven’t, head over to the Settings page on your device and check for it manually.
