[Video] Fingerprint unlocking tested on the Nexus 5X

Nexus Imprint

#Google introduced a feature called ‘Nexus Imprint‘ with the #Nexus5X and the #Nexus6P smartphones. This is basically the company’s fingerprint scanning technology, which can be used to unlock the two new Nexus phones or make wireless payments using Android Pay (NFC).

While we have known that this feature would be pretty snappy, it wasn’t exactly clear as to how fast it would be. These doubts have now been clarified thanks to a new hands-on video posted by an Indian user during the country’s Nexus 5X launch event. This shows how quickly the smartphone can unlock while using the fingerprint sensor on the back and that it can work as seamlessly as on the new range of Apple iPhones.

It’s refreshing to see that fingerprint scanning is finally being taken seriously by Android OEMs. With more manufacturers using fingerprint scanners by default now, it will be interesting to see where the Android world is headed.
