Sony offering 10,000 Xperia Z3 owners chance to beta test Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Xperia Z3

#Sony yesterday announced a long list of devices that would be receiving the #Android 6.0 #Marshmallow update. The company has now announced that lucky 10,000 users of the #XperiaZ3 will get an opportunity to try out the Android 6.0 update on their smartphones. Just to be clear, this will be a beta testing program so users aren’t exactly getting a fully functional version of the ROM at their disposal.

But even then, this is a very kind gesture from Sony and goes to show that it has faith in its customers to offer the best feedback regarding issues and bugs found with an early version of Android 6.0 (with Sony’s custom skin).

For the users, this is a way to get a taste of something new without having to do anything out of the ordinary like flashing ROM images or other complicated procedures. I personally think more manufacturers should follow this policy.

Are you a customer of the Sony Xperia Z3? What do you make of this news?
