S4 Soft Keys Not Working After Software Update
Problem: the issue just happend after i did software update ., after i restart my phone the touch below the screen has been stopped ,i’m talking about the bottom of the phone ( the stock of getting back and the place of the options ) i tried to do format but nothing happened , the touch is not working only on these 2 places ( getting back stock and the options) thanks for answer.
Solution: Several other owners of this device have also experienced this very same issue right after they updated their phone software. This problem is usually caused by a glitch in the phone software. Try to wipe the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the problem. Wiping the cache partition deletes the temporary data stored in your phone and sometimes this type of data may be corrupt which causes the problem.
If the problem persists then backup your phone data and do a factory reset using the hardware keys.
If the factory reset fails to resolve the problem then try checking if another update is available for your phone.
If no new updates are available then I suggest you flash your phone software. You will need a copy of the stock firmware file of your phone as well as a program called Odin installed in your computer.
Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S4 Not Sending Text Message After Lollipop Update
Problem: wont let me send text. says text failed. i get text. it happened after lollipop update
Solution: In most cases a restart is all you need to resolve this type of issue. Try restarting your phone then check if you can send a text message.
If the problem persists then try to check if the message center number of your phone has changed. For the AT&T network the message center number you should use is +13123149810. Make sure to include the plus sign.
If you are still having the same problem even if your phone has the correct message center number then try wiping the cache partition of your phone.
If the issue persists then I recommend you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This is usually the troubleshooting step done once issues occur after a software update. This is because this procedure eliminates all of the data in your phone including the old software data which may still be in your device and is causing a conflict with the new software.
S4 Does Not Completely Boot After Software Update
Problem: My phone said it needed system updates but didn’t have enough memory. I deleted a few apps and moved a lot of my photo’s to my computer so had more space. It updated about two weeks ago and since then I noticed the battery started to die, I’d be in app’s and they’d stop working and then about a week ago my back button and the select button (bottom left) stopped working. All calls/whatsapp and everything else was working fine. Then on Sunday night I turned off my phone and when I turned it back on again about an hour later, it kept on rebooting, getting to the home page (with no signal) and not responding to the touch screen then restarting again. It never gets further than this screen. I’ve bought a new battery and replaced it and charged it fully before I turned it on and it hasn’t changed anything. I tried your ‘clear cache’ and then rebooted it and it hasn’t worked.
When I get to the Android Recovery screen, it gives me the following options:
Reboot system now
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from external storage
Wife data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache.
It then says:
— Applying Multi-CSC…
Applied the CSC-code: 02U
Successfully applied multi-CSC
How do I backup my files? I’m afraid of loosing my photo’s and messages? I don’t really mind about the app’s etc just photo’s and whatsapp conversations 🙁 I tried the Errors troubleshooting and it gets onto safe mode then resets itself again! Really praying you can help, I can’t afford a new phone at the moment!!!! Thank you
Solution: There’s a big possibility that this problem is caused by a corrupt software. You will need to do a factory reset to resolve this issue however the problem is that your phone does not stay on long enough for you to backup your data.
Have you tried using Kies to backup your phone data? Try connecting your phone using a USB cord on a computer running on Kies. If Kies detects your phone then you will be able to backup its data.
S4 Not Recognizing SIM Card After Update
Problem: Hi Team, I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 from eBay, seller refurbished which was unlocked Verizon Phone. I inserted my AT&T MVNO SIM and phone started working fine. I tried to update my phone but it kept on giving error “”Software update is temporarily unavailable. Try again later””. I contacted the seller and they suggested to “”hard resetting the device””. I followed the instructions but it didn’t made any difference. I goggled and someone suggested to use “”Samsung Kies”” to update the phone which I did and it upgraded phone. Now, after the upgrade, the phone doesn’t recognize my SIM Card, it is giving error “”SIM Card is not from Verizon””. Request your assistance on this issue and please let me know if you need any additional information from my end to resolve this issue. Your response is highly appreciated. Thanks
Solution: Try rebooting your phone first and see if the error occurs. If it does then backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the issue still persists then your phone may have reverted back to its locked status after the software update. This explains why it is asking for a Verizon SIM. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked. You may need to have your phone unlocked again.
S4 Stuck In Download Mode After Software Update
Problem: Hi there. Hope you can help. My Samsung S4 just did a software update and I was getting pop ups about google services and play not working. I tried a few of your suggested solutions but nothing worked. I then tried the re-set using volume, home and power keys like directed but instead of getting the result in your step by step I got the attached android screen and now nothing has happened, its staying like this and I am not sure what to do next. (sorry thought i could attach picture of screen. description: green android man underneath saying downloading…. Do not turn off target!! on top ODIN mode
product name: gt-19500
current binary: samasung official
system status: official
secure download: enabled
knox warranty void )
AP SWAEV: A3
Solution: Try to wait for the download to finish. If it takes a long time then go ahead and remove the phone battery. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert the battery. Turn on your phone and check if it boots normally.
S4 HDMI Not Working After Lollipop Update
Problem: Since I update my samsung galaxy s4 to android 5.0.1, my hdmi is not working, it is not casting any signal. Before the upgrade my HDMI was working fine.
Solution: Make sure that the MHL to HDMI adapter you are using is working and not faulty. Once you have verified this then the next step is to check your phone. In checking your phone the primary suspect is your phone software. Try to wipe the cache partition of your phone first then see if this resolves the issue. If the problem persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
