Note 4 Won’t Make A Call
Problem: Intermittently but fairly frequently, the phone won’t make a call after I type in the number on the keypad. It looks like it operating properly, then just comes back to the phone dial pad screen. The second time I try, it dials almost 100% of the time. Same thing happens frequently when I try to make a call or send a text by sliding across the entry on the recent calls list.
Solution: This could be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data in your phone. Try clearing the cache and data of your phone app and see if this resolves the problem. If it doesn’t then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone.
Note 4 Can’t Call Due To Not Registered On Network
Problem: It was working before .. I have no idea what is going on when I’m trying to insert the SIM card and call the message shows no registered on network .. I tried to reboot and did update also deleted the same .. Could you guide me how can I fix it ASAP.
Solution: Do you have another phone available? If you do try to insert the SIM card to that phone and check if it is getting a signal. If no other phone is available I suggest you contact your carrier to check if there are any issues with your account or with the network in your particular area.
If your account or the network does not have any issues then there may be a problem with your SIM card. This can only be checked if it is inserted in another phone. Once you have made sure that the SIM is working it’s time to check your phone.
Turn off your phone then take out the SIM card. Inspect the SIM slot of your phone if there are traces of dirt or debris. If necessary clean it using a can of compressed air. Reinsert the SIM making sure that it is in its proper orientation and that it is securely in place.
Turn on your phone then check if you are getting a signal. If you don’t have any signal try going to a different area. Your current location may not have coverage this time so it is best to check if your phone can get a signal in another area.
If you have no luck in getting any signal then I suggest you backup your phone and do a factory reset.
If the problem still persists after the factory reset then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related problem.
Note 4 Not Getting Phone Calls
Problem: I’m not sure about the Android Version so I hope that is not critical. I just passed my Note 4 on to my wife so I could upgrade to the Note 5. Love the 5 and also loved the 4, but after a couple of weeks my wife is complaining that a lot of incoming calls never get to her. Her friends have documented that they have called her several times and the calls never show up on the phone. Is this a common [problem or what? I never noticed it when I was using it although my wife reminds me that many times her calls weren’t getting through to me when i had the Note 4. Now my wife wants to get rid of the 4 and get the iphone 6 which I don’t want to do. Any advice? Thx!
Solution: You should try to check first if the issue is caused by some form of corrupt data. Try wiping the cache partition of the phone then check if this resolves the problem. If it still occurs then I suggest you backup the phone data then do a factory reset. This will clear out any software related issues that may be causing this problem. Once the factory reset is complete do not install any apps yet. Try to use the phone for a day and see if it can receive calls.
If the problem still persists then try to update the phone software. If your phone is already running on the latest software version and the problem still persists then this may already be hardware related. You will need to bring the phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Hangs Up Call After 2 Minutes
Problem: Everything I make a call it only last about 2 minutes before hanging up telling me I’m out of service the device was from at&t but I purchased it at simple mobile. I thought it was simple mobile service so I switched to metropcs with whom I’ve had for about 2 years. But the problem continues. Also it just recently stopped reading my fingerprint I know it’s a whole separate issue but I need help please.
Solution: For this type of issue I suggest you backup your phone data and immediately do a factory reset. This way you can immediately check if the problem is software or hardware related. Once the reset has completed do not install any apps yet. Try making a call. If you still get the out of service error then this may already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Regarding the fingerprint reader issue , if the factory reset does not resolve the problem then it may also be hardware related.
Note 4 Not Connected To Network Error When On Call
Problem: Usually i can multi task on my note 4 just fine. I can be on a call and still surf the web, send a text, whatever. This past month, i have not been able to do so. Whether i am on wifi calling , 4g lte (spark), or 3g. I get an error saying i am not connected to the network… Also i used to get 4g lte spark everywhere, now i’m lucky to get it even in a large city.
Solution: Determine first if this issue occurs in only one particular area or in any area you go to. This allows you to check if the issue is network related. If the problem occurs in only one area then there may be a network problem in that area. I suggest you contact your carrier regarding this issue.
If the network does not have any problems then try to check if this issue is caused by a corrupt data in your phone by wiping its cache partition.
If the issue persists the next thing you should do is to check if a third party app installed in your phone is causing this problem. Start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If you don’t experience the problem in this mode then an app is the most likely culprit. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If however the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If at this point you still experience the same problem then this may already be hardware related. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Black Screen When On Call
Problem: I bought a note 4 in india and was doing fine, upon landing in usa the phone started having glitches, the fingerprint scanner and pedometer stopped working, the backlight stopped auto rotate stopped so I hard rest it would work again and the errors would resume again within 12 hours I did this like 4 times and got fed up, I read in a forum to reinstall the firmware and I did that too and the phone became ok, but now when I call and the phone goes dark it takes about 2 min for it to recover the lag and start up again. at times it goes blank by itself and takes time to start, unfortunate for me the phones 6 months old but Samsung usa won’t cover warranty for it, what could be possibly wrong in it, help desperately needed.
Solution: Does your phone have any screen protector attached to it or a case perhaps? If your phone has any of both then I suggest removing them as this may interfere with the proximity sensor of your phone.
Check if this issue is caused by corrupt data in your phone. Try to clear the cache and data of your phone app then follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
If the issue persists then back up your phone data and do a factory reset.
If after a factory reset you still experience the same problem then double check the firmware version you flashed in your phone. If possible get another stock firmware and reflash your device.
You may have to bring your phone to an authorized service center if the issue persists since this may already be hardware related.
