NVIDIA Shield console getting Android TV 2.1 update

The #NVIDIA #Shield console is now receiving a new update to Android TV 2.1. This comes after the 2.0 update left some bugs within the system, hindering the usage of the customers. This new update fixes the HDMI black levels while improving compatibility as well.

Here’s the changelog mentioned by NVIDIA in its entirety:

Enjoy great new apps and games:

Showtime – Stream all new episodes or catch up on past seasons of hit shows like Homeland.
Disney Movies Anywhere – Watch your Disney, Disney•Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars digital movies.
Contrast – Delve into a dreamlike 1920s world in this award-winning adventure/puzzle game.
Pix the Cat – Challenge your reflexes and wits in this critically acclaimed intense arcade game.

Plus more enhancements:

Improves HDMI black levels and HDMI compatibility

The update should be hitting devices anytime now, but don’t be surprised if it takes some time to reflect on all devices. The user interface on your NVIDIA Shield console should remain unchanged for the most part, so don’t expect a lot of changes post the update.
