Earlier today, we found that the 2014 #MotoX had already received certification for the Android 6.0 update. #Motorola has now posted on its blog detailing the devices that will get the update, while also giving us a very good idea of what will be new with the update.
Here are the devices that will receive the update:
- 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Play
- 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
- 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia2 (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE2 (2nd gen)
- DROID Turbo
- 2014 Moto MAXX
- 2014 Moto Turbo
- Nexus 6
Naturally, the Nexus 6 will be the first smartphone to get the update, while some of the other smartphones might have to get carrier approval before the update is sent out to the devices. Although the company has already listed out the devices that will get the update, we’re yet to learn about the timing, but Motorola has promised to keep the users posted about the timeline.
One major Motorola related change with the Android 6.0 update is the lack of Moto Assist. The company will now include the ‘Do not disturb’ button under the ‘Sound and notification’ tab, thus making Moto Assist obsolete. You can find the complete set of features from the link below.
