LG looking to launch new “G Pay” wireless payments service: Report

LG Logo - Nexus

A new report from a popular source talks about LG’s intentions to release a new wireless payments service called the “G Pay“. It is said that the company has already been awarded patents in the U.S., Japan and South Korea. There is not a lot of word available on this service as of yet, but as the name suggests, this could be a rival to #SamsungPay.

Samsung and LG have closely competed in their home markets and overseas, so we can understand the reasoning behind a service such as this. It is believed that G Pay will be more versatile compared to Samsung Pay, which makes use of NFC as well as MST technologies for payments.

The report speculates that LG will be working on a USIM based payment solution, which apparently even some industry big guns are working on, so it should be interesting to see what the company has in store with the new G Pay.
