With #Huawei already releasing the #MateS last month, there was talk about whether the company will launch the Mate 8 flagship this year which has been a constant entry in rumors and leaks.
The CEO of Huawei, Yu Chengdong has now confirmed that the Mate 8 handset is indeed real and will be launching soon. However, the CEO failed to mention if the smartphone will be launched this year or the next, but we’re guessing it should break cover sometime during the CES in January next year, which is usually the go to place for product launches, much like the MWC and the IFA events.
As for the feature set, the Mate 8 is expected to sport a display with Force Touch support, like on the Mate S. The device is also said to be packing the octa core HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC SoC, a 21-megapixel rear camera, 3 and 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage variants and hopefully, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. While the existence of the device has been confirmed by Huawei, we’re yet to ascertain when the device will be launched, so take the report with a pinch of salt for now.
