#BLOCKS is a new smartwatch that is set to go live on #Kickstarter next Tuesday. But it’s not just any other smartwatch that you would find in the markets. This here is a modular wearable that can let you arrange pieces according to your liking. The smartwatch has a variety of links that can be connected. Each of these links have sensors embedded in them, which is said to enhance the experience of the device to a great extent.
Modules include camera, GPS, a heart rate sensor and even something known as an environment sensor. This is what the makers had to say about BLOCKS – “Modular technology isn’t just a fancy name or a quirky concept that we thought up to make headlines. It is a new way of thinking. It changes our relationship with technology. It is more sustainable, better for the environment and the consumer: modular means less upgrades and more choice.”
This is a very interesting concept and will officially hit Kickstarter next Tuesday where backers can pre-order the device for shipping at an undisclosed date. The team behind BLOCKS wants to get the project close to finishing and set up a manufacturing unit before the pre-orders begin so that customers don’t have to wait a long time. Pricing information hasn’t been disclosed at this point. Check out the video below to understand how BLOCKS works.
