T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge getting Advanced Messaging

Galaxy S6 edge

The T-Mobile branded #Samsung #GalaxyS6 and the #GalaxyS6 edge are now getting OTA updates with the Advanced Messaging and T-Mobile Video Calling features on board.

The video calling feature was announced for the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ last week, allowing users to place video calls directly from the dialer without requiring a separate app. This feature is currently limited to the four Galaxy flagships, so owners of any other devices are sadly out of luck.

Advanced Messaging is T-Mobile’s way of giving users a more IM app like experience with messages. This comes with features like read receipts, typing notifications and an almost real time flow to the conversation. This update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge also comes with Dropbox, Google Wallet and the ability to setup a work profile.

The update should be arriving on your phones shortly, but if it’s not, make sure you go to the Settings – About Device page to look for it manually. What do you think of these new features?
