Samsung Pay could soon be found on lower-tier handsets as well

Samsung Pay

At this point, #SamsungPay is only compatible with a handful of recently released #Galaxy flagships. But now, the Korean giant has mentioned that it will soon bring support for smaller and cheaper devices as well, which should also include entry level offerings and budget phones.

But the company doesn’t want to get your hopes up unnecessarily as it mentions that this will be a “gradual” process. In any case, it’s good to know that the manufacturer has even considered this option.

The company failed to divulge any further details on the matter, so we’re still in the dark about when Samsung Pay will begin rolling out with cheaper or midrange offerings.

Samsung Pay’s claim to fame is its support with MST or Magnetic Secure Transmission units in addition to standalone NFC terminals. MST allows merchants to use Samsung Pay on any old and conventional card swiping machines, which is an excellent feature to have. This is something that Apple Pay and Android Pay both lack, so Samsung clearly has a leg up on both the offerings in this regard.
