Samsung dominates mobile shipments in Q2 2015

Galaxy S6

Even though #Apple fans would point out the profit margins and the popularity of its devices, there’s no denying that #Samsung sells more devices on a global level each quarter. The results of Q2 2015 suggest the same. Samsung is found to be on top in terms of global smartphone shipments, which is barely a surprise given the amount of devices it has on offer.

The Korean manufacturer managed to gain a global marketshare of 21% while Apple only managed to garner 14%. Despite excelling in global markets, Samsung couldn’t catch up to Apple in the U.S., which is a disappointment for the company as this is a crucial market for all major OEMs. Manufacturers like Huawei, Lenovo etc have long been making their way to the top 5 thanks to the immense popularity enjoyed in Asian markets.

With the release of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus this quarter along with the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5, it will be interesting to see how the Q3 2015 figures will read for Apple and Samsung respectively.
