Long pressing the app drawer button on the Google Now Launcher can now let you quick search apps

Google Now Launcher

With the 5.3 version of #Google Search, it is seen that Google has baked in a new easy search feature within the app drawer button. This is something that hasn’t been made public by Google, but was found by a user. Long pressing the app drawer button from the homescreen will now automatically pop up the quick search box with the default keyboard so that you can type in letters of the app that you’re looking for.

This is a major addition considering how it can save a few seconds of scrolling and manually looking for apps. However, this can also be achieved by tapping the Google Search bar at the top. But if you have a tall phone (like the Nexus 6) this nifty feature will allow you to look for apps relatively quickly.

It is said that users on Google Search version 5.2 are not seeing this particular feature, so make sure you manually download the latest version 5.3 release from the link below.
