Instagram now has 400 million users

Only 10 months ago, #Instagram had 300 million users. The image sharing service has now added another 100 million users within the time frame, taking the tally to 400 million overall. This tells us that the image sharing site has grown in popularity in some more regions, which can only be good news for #Facebook which acquired Instagram in 2012.

Bear in mind that Instagram has only given out details of the overall users and not active users who use the app every day, so the actual figures might vary. An interesting stat here is that more than 75% of the users of the app originate from outside of the U.S. and the number looks to be steadily increasing.

Ever since Instagram was acquired by Facebook, the platform has seen immense growth, while Facebook itself saw reduced growth back in 2013. Are you one of the 400 million users of Instagram? What do you make of this news?
