MediaTek MT2601

The #MediaTek #HelioX20 SoC is expected to be a very powerful unit with benchmark scores and results backing up those claims. A new report now suggests that the first lot of devices featuring this chipset will hit the markets as soon as next month. This chipset uses a 10-core CPU architecture and as such, is a very powerful offering.

The HTC One A9 smartphone is said to be one of the first devices to be using the chipset. Knowing how the smartphone will be unveiled later this month, it’s not hard to imagine that the device will be available in the markets by October. Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is due a flagship as we learned yesterday, so the company could join HTC in releasing a Helio X20 running device.

Meizu is also said to be bringing its very own Helio X20 smartphone soon, so we could be looking at a number of handsets as we head towards the end of 2015. The chipset uses 10 CPU cores in all, with 8 of them being Cortex-A53 cores while the remaining two are the Cortex-A72 cores.
