Verizon Wireless will not support Samsung Pay

Samsung Pay

With #SamsungPay expected to be officially available in the U.S. on August 28, the company has now revealed that #Verizon Wireless customers will be left out of the mix.

In a tweet responding to a user query, Samsung simply said “Verizon isn’t part of Samsung Pay“, making it abundantly clear. The company didn’t elaborate as to why the carrier isn’t supporting its new wireless payment service, but it seems like there were some issues on the back end that went unresolved.

The service brings wireless payments to a wide range of merchants and it can function even without a dedicated NFC payment system, which is always a bonus. But it’s sad to see that Verizon Wireless owners will be left out of the action. Hopefully, the carrier will change its mind somewhere down the line and make sure that its users are covered with Samsung Pay support.

What do you make of this new revelation? Sound off below.
