Sprint Galaxy Note 4 getting an update to Android 5.1.1 with an important bug fix

Galaxy Note 4

Samsung has begun rolling out an update which fixes the Androidstagefright‘ bug, which allowed for malware to be masked under an MMS. The latest in its lineup to get the update is the Galaxy Note 4 on Sprint, which is also receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at the same time.

The update also seemingly fixes the Message Waiting Indicator bug that has been plaguing the users, so all-in-all, a must have update for the users. The stagefright bug has created quite the buzz in the news when a recent report revealed how it could be exploited to break through to your device and gain access to the microphone and media items.

Google is expected to issue a bug fixing patch of its own for Nexus devices and we can expect other Android OEMs to follow suit over the coming days. Are you seeing the update on your Sprint Galaxy Note 4? Head over to the link below for more details.
