Sony is expected to reveal the Xperia Z5 flagship next month, with the company scheduling an event for the 2nd of September at IFA 2015. Today, we’re getting our first possible glimpse of the handset, thanks to a new leak. The image shows the smartphone along with the Xperia Z5 Compact, sporting fingerprint recognition tech by default.
Given how Google will bring support for native fingerprint scanning with Android M, this makes a lot of sense. The name is said to be Xperia Z(TBD), so the Xperia Z5 moniker is not set in stone yet. It is said that this devices won’t have a USB Type-C connector like most upcoming devices, which is a bit of a letdown for the fans, but something that they can live with.
It is also claimed that Sony isn’t changing much with regards to the design and that the smartphones will retain the same glass panels on the front and back respectively. We’ll keep a close eye on the leaks for more information on the upcoming Sony flagships. Do you welcome the addition of fingerprint scanners on the new Sony flagships?
