Sony hints at improved camera for the upcoming Xperia flagship

Sony Xperia

Sony’s #XperiaZ5 and the Z5 Compact have appeared sparingly in leaks. The company sparked off some buzz by scheduling a mobile themed event for the IFA 2015 event next month. Sony Xperia Britain has now posted a tweet with an image telling us to “Get ready for a smartphone with greater focus,” essentially confirming that the Xperia Z5 and the Z5 Compact will be camera oriented flagships.

Sony has used its proprietary 20.7-megapixel camera sensor with the Xperia Z1, Z2, Z3 as well as the Z4, so we’re guessing there will be a change this time around. Sony has been criticized for not bringing anything new to the table with its offerings, but that faction could be changing this year, considering how this could be a make or break device for the Japanese manufacturer.

More details are awaited on the Xperia Z5 and we expect leaks to give us a good idea about the device over the days leading up to the release. We have learnt that the device would utilize a uniquely placed fingerprint scanner along with some beefy hardware underneath. Are you excited to check out Sony’s latest flagship offering?
